Alle-Fucking-Luia! MGM have finally greenlighted the upcoming "Lord Of The Rings" prequels, "The Hobbit: Part 1&2-3D".
Principle photography is said to begin in Febuary 2011, with Peter Jackson returning as director for both films. He has said that he plans to once again film them back-to-back.
Martin Freeman is said to be one step away from signing onto the role of young Bilbo Baggins. And David Tennent is rumored to be signing on for an unknown role also. He seems to be impressing producers with his performance as the new Peter Vincent in Dreamworks remake of "Fright Night", which is set for release next year. Nice!
"Cold Feet" star, James Nesbitt is also been offered a role in the film, along with "X-Men: First Class" star, Michael Fassbender. And Sylvestor McCoy has been offered the role of Radagast The Brown, which I did post like a few months back. Now we have the name of the character that he's been offered. Comedian, Bill Bailey announced that he auditioned for the role of Gloin, but hasn't had any word back yet about it.
If they all deffo sign onto the project(s), then they will be joining Andy Serkis (Gollum) and Ian McKellen (Gandolf). It's been reported by Deadline, that casting announcements will be made in the next few weeks. AWESOME!
