The Spy Kids franchise is getting rebooted for a August 2011 release. Robert Rodriguez announced months ago that he was considering making a fourth film with the original cast but decided to return to the series with a new cast of Spy Kids. The fourth film was to be called, "Spy Kids: All The Time In The World". There was no cast announced, but there was still rumors circling that the original cast was really coming back, even though Rodriguez said that they weren't returning.
Now it has been announced that the fourth Spy Kids film is to become a reboot to the franchise. Seems like every franchise these days is getting rebooted. I guess it's not the worst thing in the world. Seems though that Robert Rodriguez is still in the directors chair, which is strange because usually in a reboot, it has nothing to do with the original, even the director but Rodriguez is returning and is deffo looking for a new cast. He's also given the reboot a brand new name: "Spy Kids 4: Armageddon". Guess the new title sounds better than "All The Time In The World".
Rodriguez says that the film will be much bigger and better than the original franchise and that it will be released as a Disney film, unlike the first 3 that were released by Rodriguez's company, Troublemaker Studio's.
"Spy Kids 4: Armageddon" is due for release in August 2011.
