Planet Of The Apes Prequel Begins Filming This July?
Fox is finally going into production with their Planet Of The Apes prequel titled, "Caesar: Rise Of The Apes". Shooting is rumoured to begin in July of this year. This project has been on and off for vvthe past couple of years seeing as Tim Burton's Apes Remake was a kinda critical failure, even though I liked, but it did have a fucking stupid mind-fuck ending to it. That was the major down fall of the film.
Anyway, Burton intended to make a sequel, because of the weird ending of the first one. He wanted the film to end with a cliffhanger, but never got the chance to complete his story with the part 2 film. So now Fox thought, "Fuck Burton's story! Let's just reboot the franchise again with an origins story. That's basically how all franchise's go these days if they began or begin to fail...just do an origins story or reboot it. I'm kinda looking forward to this new film.
It's scheduled for release sometime in 2012. There's no cast member yet. It's said that British Director, Rupert Wyatt will be taking on the prequel that is based on a screenplay co-written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who wrote "The Relic". Shit film, but am sure the screenplay for this prequel is good enough of Fox wouldn't have gave it the go-ahead. I'll have more info on it as it comes in.
