“We Are The World” is being re-made, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are working together on a 25th anniversary release of the song Michael Jackson penned together with Lionel Richie to raise money for Africa. Yesterday, many artists arrived yesterday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich will produce the event, which will then be turned into a video and single just like it was in 1985.
Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz, Drake, Barbra Streisand, Toni Braxton, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Pink, Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Brandy, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, Busta Rhymes, Nicole Scherzinger, Akon, Tony Bennett, Carlos Santana, and many others participated in the re-make of “We Are The World”.
“We Are The World – 25” will serve to raise money for Haiti. The world premiere of “We Are the World – 25 for Haiti,” along with the accompanying 3-D video, will air during NBC’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Friday, February 12th.
